Justin and I met....well, a million years ago, it seems. I've helped with a local church camp in the camp office since I was 19, and several summers ago, Justin came along to join the team. It's hard to tell how many years ago it really was because when you spend almost 10 days straight in one office, time takes on a shape of its own, especially year after year.
Super Summer is great at bringing people together. Great ministry relationships have been forged there over the years. Countless friendships have begun there as well. But one of the sweetest blessings of Super Summer is the people who begin their love story during camp. In that same little, make-shift camp office, I met Chuck for the first time in 2010. (He remembers meeting a few days earlier, but I have no recollection...) Justin and Nicole didn't meet at Super Summer, but they had their first date during camp last summer. Over the past year, they have fallen deeper and deeper in love, and at an escape room a few months ago, Justin asked her to marry him.
It was so fun this year to have them both in the camp office sharing stories of the past year together, reminiscing on how it all began, and looking forward to what is to come!
These two have the sweetest love. Throughout our session, they were constantly giggling with each other and just enjoying being together. They have already built the foundation of their marriage on ministry and self-sacrifice for each other, and I can't wait for their November ceremony in Crossett!
